March 1982 advertisement

The advertisement appeared in the March 1982 issue of “Bicycle Motocross Action”. The picture is a photo and not a scan. I dont own a scanner. The image is in better focus in the magazine. I dont know how to better use my digital camera to make sure the picture is in focus.

1979 Washington State Championships

Some of the fastest riders came out of the Northwest. In the early days it was Clarence Perry and Mike Rice.  Clarence doing it for Sekai, CW and Torker. Mike doing it for Powerlite.  these were big time riders who could hang with anyone from California, Texas, New Jersey or Florida. Later Gary Ellis would carry the torch for the region.

1979 the ABA State Championships were held in Tacoma. No small race and it was covered by “Bicycle Motocross Action” in the August 1979 issue. The race was sponsored by, you guessed it, Sekai.

Clarence Perry (Factory Sekai) doubled winning 14 & Over Open and 16 & Over Expert.  Mike Rice got a 3rd in Open and 2nd in Expert. Marty Ehnat (Factory Sekai) tripled!
